Terri Clark

BIOGRAPHY

Terri Clark was born in Montreal and was raised in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada. She moved to Nashville at age 18 and paid her dues by playing at Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge, the famous honky-tonk bar across the alley from the Ryman Auditorium. After signing to Mercury Records, she reached No. 3 in 1995 with her first single, “Better Things to Do.” She followed it with several Top 10 hits, including “When Boy Meets Girl,” “If I Were You,” “Emotional Girl,” “Now That I Found You” and a remake of “Poor Poor Pitiful Me.” Clark hit No. 1 in 1998 with “You’re Easy on the Eyes” and again in 2004 with “Girls Lie Too.” She released Greatest Hits: 1994-2004 in 2004 and parted ways with Mercury after releasing Life Goes On in 2005. She later signed with BNA Records and charted three singles before asking to be released from her contract with the label. Clark independently released The Long Way Home in the U.S. in 2009. Roots and Wings followed in 2011. Clark’s ninth studio album, Classic, was released on November 13, 2012, in Canada. It features such classic country standards as “Love Is a Rose,” “Gentle on My Mind,” “Leavin’ on Your Mind” and “How Blue” (with Reba McEntire). She released the album Some Songs in 2014. Terri Clark continues to tour the country.
