Although the first solo single from Sam Smith was issued in early 2013, it was his vocal contribution to Disclosure’s October 2012 U.K. garage track “Latch” that brought him to people’s attention. “Latch” hit the upper reaches of the U.K. singles chart when Smith was 21, and many were surprised when his debut solo track “Lay Me Down” took a more tempered path. Next came the infectious, Bollywood sample-driven “La La La.” Featuring Smith’s powerful lead vocal, it became an instant U.K. number one single. By the end of February 2014, he was at the top of the U.K. singles chart once again with “Money on My Mind.” Sam has amassed over 50 billion streams, almost 300 million single sales, 70 million monthly spotify listeners and 37 million album sales. Sam’s fourth studio album features smash hit Unholy which was the only pop collaboration of 2022 to be certified RIAA Platinum. The track has amassed over one billion combined global streams and was hailed as one of the best songs of 2022. Sam just won the GRAMMY for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and performed Unholy during the awards show broadcast to rave reviews. They also just performed on what was the highest rated Saturday Night Live of the season. Gloria, the tour will commence in North America on July 25 2023 and will span across 27 arenas.
