Trumpeter Chris Botti is a gifted instrumentalist, composer, and performer who — since the release of his first solo album in 1995 — has created a series of recordings that have made him a virtual genre-of-one in contemporary jazz. Through his combination of lush atmospheres and improvisations, Botti has earned both critical acclaim and mainstream appreciation. Botti’s album, To Love Again, was a worthy successor to Botti’s gold-certified album, When I Fall In Love. After the first week of release, the album debuted in the Billboard Top 200 in the #18 position. In the studio and on stage, Chris Botti worked with such leading singer-songwriters as Sting, Marc Cohn, Joni Mitchell and Natalie Merchant. In 2000, he was a featured soloist on Sting’s “Brand New Day” world tour, and that time allowed Botti to rediscover old musical passions and create new ones. Night Sessions (2001), which was recorded in Los Angeles, captured jazzy pop. That muse was explored further in 2003 with Thousand Kisses Deep, and on the more tradtional orchestral jazz of 2004’s When I Fall In Love. To Love Again: The Duets followed in 2005. Another Top 40 placement, Italia, followed in 2007. In 2012, Botti returned with the studio album Impressions. Focusing on his love of melody, Impressions features Botti collaborating with such artists as jazz pianist Herbie Hancock, guitarist Mark Knopfler, country singer Vince Gill, composer/pianist/producer David Foster, and more. Chris Botti continues to play to packed houses all over the world.
